Relance: Compress
This one is a shameless self-promotion as I am the Art Director responsible for this TV Advert for Relance, a new Portuguese magazine covering various subject matters, such as Design, Fashion, Architecture, Food, etc. One of the reasons I have been so busy, and haven't been able to post much. Hope you guys like it. Do give me your feedback and let me know what you think.
The concept of the ad is that the subjects are being compressed into the magazine.
We had a purpose built machine to smash the objects, and then we filmed them with a special high speed camera, which I'm sure some of you guys already know, called Phantom. This impressive camera films at 1000fps in High Definition. The process was a lot of fun and very unpredictable. You just want to keep smashing stuff and trying new things.
Voice over says: "A mindful look at everything contemporaneous."

Sorry guys!
I'm sure you've notice the lack of posting.
I'm sorry but the past weeks have been hectic with work here at the agency. We're trying to kick the financial crisis ass :p
That, and the fact that I'm trying to "re-design" Advertising etc. New look and very probably new name, plus a very likely move to WordPress, as I keep having trouble with posting and editing html on Blogger. Hopefully it will be better, more organized and with more original content.
Meanwhile, there might be a few glitches on the blog, but hopefully it will be worthwhile.
All the best,
André

Money
All you here about in the news is money, specially with the loom of the financial crises.
Anyway, I'm posting about money to, however, I'm sure you won't mind to listen to this video. Fantastic classic from Pink Floyd, which I think is very appropriate for the times we're in.

People Tree
People Tree might pop-up in a lot of posts today all around the web, as it's Blog Action Day. Anyway, I didn't know about this shop till I was looking around on the web a few minutes ago for a cool fair trade shop to post about. Found this one, I think its worth a look as they sell some simple, yet very nice t-shirts, and other clothing items. And it's fair trade, so, not only are they nice items, they will also be good for your karma :p
Here's People Tree's mission statement:
* To support producer partners' efforts towards economic independence and control over their environment and to challenge the power structures that undermine their rights to a livelihood.
* To protect the environment and use natural resources sustainably throughout our trading and to promote environmentally responsible lifestyles and environmental initiatives to create new models to promote sustainability.
* To supply customers with good quality products, with friendly and efficient service and build awareness to empower consumers and producers to participate in Fair Trade and environmentally sustainable solutions.
* To provide a supportive environment to all stakeholders and promote dialogue and understanding between them.
* To set an example to business and the government of a Fair Trade model of business based on partnership, people-centred values and sustainability.
If you know any other worthy fair trade shops, let me know.
