Relance: Compress

This one is a shameless self-promotion as I am the Art Director responsible for this TV Advert for Relance, a new Portuguese magazine covering various subject matters, such as Design, Fashion, Architecture, Food, etc. One of the reasons I have been so busy, and haven't been able to post much. Hope you guys like it. Do give me your feedback and let me know what you think.

The concept of the ad is that the subjects are being compressed into the magazine.
We had a purpose built machine to smash the objects, and then we filmed them with a special high speed camera, which I'm sure some of you guys already know, called Phantom. This impressive camera films at 1000fps in High Definition. The process was a lot of fun and very unpredictable. You just want to keep smashing stuff and trying new things.

Voice over says: "A mindful look at everything contemporaneous."

Hovis: Go on Lad

Epic ad to celebrate the 122 years of Hovis. 6 days of filming in Liverpool (UK) and over 800 extras were needed to make the 122 seconds spot. I like it. A lot!

Nike: Here I Am

Have you seen the new campaign for Nike women? Fantastic work by W+K Amsterdam. Although they do remind me a bit of the stories by Adidas. However, don't miss them. My favorite is Nicola Spirig. Awesome animation.

Axe: So Cute

Very funny advert for Axe (aka Lynx). I'm guessing, that as usual with Axe adverts, they will also take a few prizes with this one. I like it a lot. Great work by Vegaolmosponce (Argentina).

Pepto Bismol: Empanada

Weird but funny commercial by Lapiz (A division of Leo Burnett Chicago dedicated to the Hispanic market in the US).

Tele 2: Call Me

I scooped this great spot from Glossy. The performance of the actor matches the quality of the casting, fantastic.

Mercedes-Benz G-Class: Origami

Don't know if you guys have already seen this ad for Mercedes done by Jung von Matt/Basis. I saw it for the first time today. I don't love the punchline "What in the world can stop a G-Class?", but the animation is quite interesting.

JCPenney: Speed Dressing

I read in the news that this ad by Saatchi & Saatchi NY won a Bronze Lion, however JCPenney, the client who the ad was for, didn't know about it. I think it's a beautiful ad and hope that JCPenney goes ahead with it. It would be a waste not to.

Nike: Creating Converts Is The Next Level

Another fantastic spot by 72andSunny for Nike. Full of great details. Probably the best TV ad I've seen lately.

Trojan Condoms: Pizza boy
