Galle District parliamentarian Nishantha Mutuhettigama has told several of his colleagues at the governing party parliamentary group meeting that he had gone to speak to the JVP monks who marched to Temple Trees last week with the aim of instigating them and getting assaulted. He had said the Sri Lankan Leader had asked him to get himself hospitalized after being slapped at least once.
He had said his efforts to instigate the monks had not been successful and that the cameras of all media supportive of the regime were focused on him at all times.
Mutuhettigama had also said that the Sri Lankan Leader had asked his staff to offer drinks (gilan pasa) to the monks to quench their thirst, but they had refused to accept it.
He further told his colleagues that he could have become popular overnight and receiving a supervisory MP role had a monk at least pushed him a little.
However, Mutuhettigama had said the regime leader has decided to get persons supportive of the government to infiltrate protests and rallies of the JVP in order to create mayhem and disrupt the programmes.
Mutuhettigama is the only MP (then southern province mp) to be asked by court to have a medical checkcup to make sure he is not suffering from any kind of madness.
