Eye Petrol

Eye Petrol is an online magazine, in which its content is online user generated, basically you submit your work, and if it's good enough, you and the world will see it in the downloadable magazine. So if you want to show off your work, here's a good chance.
Thanks to Bob Ferraz for the tip.

PhotoShelter

Don't know which image bank you guys use, but if you're like most people, you'll probably use Getty or Corbis. I was contacted this afternoon by PhotoShelter, an image bank which prides its self from paying a fairer share of the profit to the photographers. Not wanting to enter any image banks wars, and just giving you another option, if you're thinking of selling your photos to an image bank, you might be interested in reading PhotoShelters' CEO Allen Murabayashi statement here. It is an interesting read.

Young Me, Now Me

Very cool photography project, where site visitors submit their photos, one of them when they were "young" and one where they are older replicating the first one. Great idea, definitely have a look.

World Press Photo 2008 winners

This years World Press Photo winners are out. The picture I choose is less emotionally heavy than most of the other photos which feature the very harsh reality that is war, plus it was taken by a Portuguese photographer (Miguel Lopes Barreira). I advise you to see, they are amazing photos, however, do be careful if you're very sensitive.

Harvey Nichols: Fashion Statement

We're used to seeing great work for Harvey Nichols. what do you think of these ones?
I think the photos are fantastic, I like the concept, I'm just not sure if the balloons are fresh! I do like it though.

Diesel: Live fast

I don't think this Diesel campaign is as good as some of the previous, however, as usual the photography and production is pretty good. Let me know your thoughts on this campaign. Is the formula loosing its charm?

The Daily Coyote

Better than any advert, here's a truly inspiring story about a woman (writer) who left everything, got on her Vespa and crossed the country to finally stop in Wyoming where she now lives with her cat and coyote who she adopted when he was 10 days old after is parents died. Very cool blog which makes you want to own a coyote of your own. A must for any animal lover.

Nike: Beautiful Monster

This is the new Nike "Team Elite" campaign by w+k Portland.
The copy and photography are very good in the press versions, I however feel they aren't nearly as good as the TV ad. Beautifully directed, cool music, nice photography, it leaves you wanting to see more. Is there a longer version of this ad?

World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims

Yesterday was World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims. Unfortunately this year, in Portugal alone, there were already 756 road accident related deaths. Maybe that's why they say we have the worst drivers in Europe. Anyway, this is the campaign we did at DraftFCB Lisbon. It consisted of posters and a guerrilla campaign, both of which you can see above. The poster reads "If you kill you won't forget", the crosses just say "World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims. 18th November 2007".

Cityshrinker

About cityshrinker: You see amazing things every day. It could be out the window of the train on your way to work, it could be in your back yard, even better it could be somewhere completely foreign, something you didnt know existed. My aim is to give that feeling of newness with each shot I take. My method is to take what was once large and shrink it down to model size. To take the familiar and get you thinking even if for a second "wait a minute, is that..."
