A new breed of GPS

This could be an ad, but it isn't, it's just a funny video. I think anybody who has a GPS or knows someone who has, will relate to this.

Cork Stamp

Designer João Machado has created, for CTT (Portuguese postal service), the first cork stamp in the World. It is said to be almost sold out and there are no plans for a second edition of the stamp. The tree depicted is a sobreiro (I'm not sure how you call it in English, in Latin it's Quercus suber), basically it's tree from witch you take out the cork. Portugal is the world's biggest cork producer.

LILT

Yet another spoof. This one, is great until the end. It doesn't even look made by the same people. I wonder what happened!

Mother

Don't know anything about this ad, don't even know if its new or not, but the animation is quite good.

Brian Dettmer: Book Autopsies

I am lost for words to describe the beauty of these books. I don't know if they are actual pages of the book that are cut, or if it's made with collage. Anyway, they're amazing!
You can read some information about the artist on Wikipedia.

Live Cheese & Biscuits

This is the best Christmas "card" I've seen so far. It's from web agency AKQA, it's a sort of gerbel Big Brother. The "Happy Christmas from AKQA" lights up each time a hamster goes on the wheel.

Kswiss

Do you think these guys were inspired by the Cadburys ad? Anyway, it's simple, but I like it. Nice drumming.

Get a Mac Christmas Ad

Let me know your thoughts on this ad. I like how they transformed the characters into a "cartoon". Is this a one off?

The Vegetable Orchestra

This is another cool video I found on The Guardian Viral Chart. Great music played with vegetables! If you'd like more information, go to the Vienna Vegetable Orchestra website.

More Christmas spirit: 12 Days of Christmas (remix)

I don't know if you guys know this classic Christmas jingle, if you do I'm sure you'll appreciate this new version by Straight No Chaser, if you don't, I reckon you'll like it all the same.

Bits: ¿Y tú, qué harías?

Just found this one on the "blogs" section of Ads of the World. This is one of my favorites that I have recently seen. Tiempo BBDO made this 3 minute long animation with a killer soundtrack. The song is all about what you could do with the €600 you could win when you buy the snack "Bits". Let me know your thoughts on this. I think it's a serious contender to Cannes next year (at least a silver?)

Agency: Tiempo BBDO (Spain)

Mikontalo Lights

This is an amazing project by Mikontalo, I'm a huge fan of Tetris, so to be able to play it on a building, there's just one word, WOW! Come to think of it, you don't even have to like Tetris to want to give it a go. Beats any PS3 (at least for a few minutes)!

The Daily Coyote

Better than any advert, here's a truly inspiring story about a woman (writer) who left everything, got on her Vespa and crossed the country to finally stop in Wyoming where she now lives with her cat and coyote who she adopted when he was 10 days old after is parents died. Very cool blog which makes you want to own a coyote of your own. A must for any animal lover.

I scooped this Zune advert from glossy, it's an amazing animation with very cool characters, all very colorful and with a nice tune adding to it all. It does remind me of Coca-Cola for some reason.

Death Proof

A severed arm was left in front of major theaters to promote the release of Tarantino's "Death Proof" on DVD. I'm sure it isn't to everybody's taste, however it must of caused quite an impact. Would you pick one up from the street? We might see them for sale on eBay.

Freixenet: The Key to Reserva

Just got this sent to me. This is absolutely brilliant work for a brand who supposedly isn't even that big. Anyway, watch it and let me know what you think. I reckon it's going to be a definite Cannes contender, maybe even D&AD.

Blockbuster: Christmas

Another Christmas ad, another good one. This one reminds me of how it is at home, a lot of people, a lot of confusion. Every year we seem to have more people joining us, one day we'll have to build an extension just to make the dinner table bigger. Anyway, this ad supposedly has 35 references to movies. Can you spot them all? Great work by DDB Toronto.

Wieden+Kennedy seeking

This might just be your chance to have some fun while producing great work. I'll be giving it a shot myself.
Good luck guys.

What W+K say about seeking:
With only one ad running so far (THEME magazine, which came out 4 days ago), the site's already generated hundreds of submissions. More ads coming in BITCH, ALARM and GIANT ROBOT.

After people submit their profile, we request a 20 page pdf - which can be as much or as little like a traditional portfolio as they decide to make it.

We hope to get 1000+ pdfs that we narrow down to 50 or so. Then we'll invite those people in to meet. We may try to link them together in some sort of social network. Maybe we'll hire a few.

If you're interested, visit the link above.

Nike: Beautiful Monster

This is the new Nike "Team Elite" campaign by w+k Portland.
The copy and photography are very good in the press versions, I however feel they aren't nearly as good as the TV ad. Beautifully directed, cool music, nice photography, it leaves you wanting to see more. Is there a longer version of this ad?

World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims

Yesterday was World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims. Unfortunately this year, in Portugal alone, there were already 756 road accident related deaths. Maybe that's why they say we have the worst drivers in Europe. Anyway, this is the campaign we did at DraftFCB Lisbon. It consisted of posters and a guerrilla campaign, both of which you can see above. The poster reads "If you kill you won't forget", the crosses just say "World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims. 18th November 2007".

The monkey went for a haircut

Another spoof of another ad, by now it's an advertising "category", spoof is the new swiss knife it seems. This said all the spoofs I've seen up till now have been very good. The male audience will gladly watch this one, I know I did.

I want one of these. The video isn't very detailed, it really doesn't explain how it works. Is it limited to that pattern? Can you upload your own patterns? Anyway, you can see its pretty cool. It would be a great way of impressing clients coming to your agency for a meeting.
